Work entails exercising judgment and discretion when it comes to providing individualized help and accepting accountability for one’s outputs. Employees possess a variety of factual, technical, and procedural knowledge in addition to some theoretical understanding of the ideas and methods needed to offer person-centered care.

Entry Requirements:

While there is no minimum educational qualification, completing the course requirements successfully and being able to communicate well in both written and spoken English are prerequisites for working in support and care positions. Additionally, you must possess the fundamental numeracy abilities required in the industry as well as the ability to read, comprehend, and apply information.  Our training program is designed to help you advance your abilities so that you may work in this significant and expanding industry.

Course Structure

Total Units of Competency:

The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) requires the completion of the following 13 units (including 7 core and 6 electives).


Pre-requisites

There are no prerequisites for this qualification.


Placement Arrangements

This course requires students to complete a minimum of 120 hours of work placement. Students are required to find their practical placement, however, Angel Institute will provide assistance and support where needed. Placement will be completed under the supervision of the center’s supervisor. Work placement assessment task needs to be completed for each unit that a placement component.

Training Arrangements

AIE ensures that you have a mixture of practical and theoretical components, and those classes cater a wide variety of learning styles. Additionally, workplace practices and environments will be regularly simulated and used to conduct skills-based assessments by unit requirements. Homework tasks may include research, readings from related textbooks and continuing to work on assessment tasks.

Entry Requirements

  • Prospective students must be at least 18 years of age.
  • To assist prospective students in determining whether a course is suitable and appropriate for their individual needs, Angel Institute will conduct a Pre-Training Review.
  • Required to complete the Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment, administered by and to the satisfaction of Angel Institute.
